Ok so I was unable to login today due to a really silly system put in place by origin. So they give you two codes when you preorder a preorder code, and a full retail code. If you are getting the error saying there is no active subscription on your account, go to origin.com and look up your old order and look for your full unlock code for the full retail version (not just the preorder) GL!

So I’m still leveling up and having a blast, at 24 (1 more lvl and I get the speeder!). However I had never in my entire leveling process decided to repair my gear (or even look at it except for upgrades) and I ended up fighting an elite mob for my class quest on Tatoo and needless to say it took me ~15 tries and some serious cooldown management and outplayingness! I eventually downed her and found out I was fighting her with 1.4k less hp than I normally have! So I basically fought her naked which my friends found hilarious, so learn from my mistakes and repair your stuff! I didn’t see any icon for “repair your broken shit” but I was told it should be above your character icon.
My plan is to level up on the regular till level cap and once there start making some serious pvp videos and the like, it just feels like pvp at this level is meh. You don’t have all your moves, your stats are bolstered, and you fight people who don’t have all their abilities (if any at all, lvl 10s…) so its hard to showcase a sick video with cool stuff on decent opponents. But when I do stream its saved on Twitch.tv’s archive so you can check it out I pvp pretty regularly so you can def see some of my playstyle.
Anyways not too much going on just check back for updates and to see when we stream!

So after a leaving the first main quest area, I encountered a few questions that there just wasn’t an easy way to figure out as a new player. Having figured some of those out, I’d like to post them with some helpful information:
Should I go light or dark side?
So far as I can tell, they offer the same benefits in terms of available gear. So in that respect, no major difference. So far I haven’t come across any other benefits specific to one side.
I have noticed, however, that if you do not pick strictly dark or light decisions, you may not have the necessary tier to purchase the gear at the level it becomes available. What do I mean by necessary tier? If you mouse over the sliding scale that determines whether you are light or dark, you will notice that it says “XXXX till next tier.” In order for you to achieve the next rank you must earn that many points to whichever side you are pursuing. The benefit of going strictly light or dark: you can purchase a pair of blue gloves at level 10 from your vendor. As you level more gear will be purchasable as you achieve higher tiers.
TLDR: Pick a side and stick to it if you want access to gear quickly.
Where is the modification unit once you leave the first quest zone?
This seems like a small thing, but I spent FOREVER looking for this stupid machine in the primary Republic city. So when you rep that wep and need to mod it, the machine seems to be located near profession trainers in the primary cities.
******UPDATE******* It is no longer necessary to find a modification unit. ALL MODS can be done anywhere, just follow the directions at the bottom of modable units.
Once I pick an advanced class, can I respec?
Once you have selected an advanced class, you are stuck with the three trees that come with it. The points you spend in those trees as you level can be reset for credits. You CANNOT changeyour advanced class, only the manner in which you delegate points. So for example, you are a Jedi Consular and you chose the Shadow Class. Within that class you have three skill trees in which you can be a tank or dps. If you chose dps but decide later on that you wanna tank, you can reset your points and spend them accordingly.
TLDR: Yes.
What do I do if my party members are in a different zone?
So you’re in a group and everyone else is in Dromand Kass 3 and you’re just in Dromand Kass. How does one fix this? Simple, right click one of your party members’ portraits and select the option to shuttle. This will take you to their instanced version of the zone (AKA #3 or whatever it may be in your case).
Okay, I know that isn’t much but I will try and update this with more helpful info as I progress through the game. If you have a question for any of us here, post it in a comment and we will try and answer it as quickly as possible. I hope this helped.

So you’ve started to level up and you want to grab some professions do ya? Well the professions in SWTOR are a little different than in traditional MMO’s. First they are called “Crew Skills” you send your crew out to preform the tasks for you, and second you can have 3. The categories for your professions are Crafting skills, Gathering skills, and Mission skills. They are what they seem, the Crafting skill allows you to craft gear based on your Crafting skill choice, the Gathering skills allows you to gather materials for crafting gear, and finally the Mission skill sends your crew on missions to gather rare materials or complete quests with great rewards for you and your companion.
Now you can have only one Crafting skill but any number of Gathering or Mission skills (up to 3) which leads to some amazing customization of your character and crew. Do you want to make money gathering and selling materials? or do you want to be a stand alone service by gathering and crafting your own materials? The choice is really up to you!
Here is the updated chart associated with picking the “correct” 3 combinations of skills courtesy of SWTORcrewskills.com

This amazing chart shows based on which class you picked which professions would best benefit your character development. For example, for Imperial Agent, both Armormech, Armstech, Cybertech and Biochem are appropriate Crafting Skills, and their associated Gathering skills and Mission skills are shown. So you have choices on which route you want to go, do you want to make your own armor and purchase/find your weapons? or do you want to be able to make your own implants and let your friends make your armor and weapons? a great system with endless combinations all based on your play-style!
Now the key concept is the fact that you send your companions out to complete the tasks for you! You can do this by first opening your crew skills window (default keybind: N) and select the profession and send your companion out to complete the quest.

This costs credits and can take anywhere from a few minutes to many hours (24!) for more advanced crafting or missions. You can have multiple companions out preforming crew skills for you, use the drop down box on the bottom right to choose the crew member to send out. just remember while they are away they can’t help you with questing! So be sure if you need your companion you haven’t sent him away on a crew skill task, or if you have simply cancel the task and summon him up!
The same concept goes for Crafting skills, choose your crafting skill and choose your item to build, then click Craft in the bottom right (it was hard to see for me at first!)

So when it comes to professions SWTOR has a very unique system with plenty of customization! More information on each particular Crafting/Gathering/Mission skill can be located at SWTORcrewskills.com an amazing website with constantly updated Crew Skill information! So if your looking for specifics I suggest you head over there and start searching!
